摘要

Network survivability refers to the capability of the network to maintain service continuity in the presence of faults with in the network. This can be accomplished by recovering quickly from network failures and maintaining the required QoS for existing services. It is expected that the MPLS- based recovery could become a viable option for obtaining faster restoration than the layer 3 rerouting. In this article we propose a path protection mechanism that is simple, fast and efficient. We use pre-assigned back up LSPs and for having efficiency, back up bandwidth is not reserved. In this paper an adaptive approach for selecting backup routes is proposed. For traffic modeling two distributing models; " self similar and Poisson" separately were used and the achieved results were compared while maintaining Quality of Service (QoS) requirements that meets the QoS constraints for path restoration.
