The biotechnologies of reproduction consist in in-vitro manipulations of gametes and /or embryos before reimplantation into a surrogate mother. This allows to use unusual animals for reproduction: immature females as embryo donors, infertile stallionsthanks to ICSI technique, infertile or dead mares with the help of in vitro maturation of oocytes and at last castrated males through their clones which will be a replacement stallion for castrated champions. The authors describe the recent progresses obtained in the recent years, the present efficiency of these techniques and their application in the breeding practice.
