Passive radar system utilizes signal transmitted from a'non-cooperative' illuminator for the detection andestimation of the target parameters. It is essential that abasis is required to investigate and analyze suchilluminator characteristics and determine whether it willbe appropriate to use as a source of passive radar signal.This paper focuses on development of Signal SpaceMethod to explore an illuminator characteristics forpassive radar system and is illustrated with the simulationand analysis of IS-95 CDMA signal. Feasibility analysisof IS-95 CDMA signal for passive radar system is furtherinvestigated with the simulation of single and multipletarget parameter estimation using novel DSP basedreceiver algorithm called Sliding Spectrum Detection(SSD).
