Research on the Sand - disturbing Measures by Man Power in the Yellow River Lower Reach

In order to improve the overflowing ability of narrow reaches where sediment deposits seriously and to get better riverbed — eroding effects of water and sediment regulation, the first sand - disturbing experiment by man power was conducted in 2004 during the period of the Yellow River water and sediment regulation to promote the sediment movement of the riverbed, to decrease the starting velocity of flow of the sediment movement of the riverbed, to make riverbed deepening and sand into the flow and then into the sea. Theory and practice proved that among the two methods of to move the riverbed layer by use of outside force and automatically digging the riverbed layer and then to cast it into the river in uniformity, the latter increases the disturbing kinetic energy of the flow and the quantity of suspended load and make them distribute in uniformity, which is good for long - distance transporting of sediment. The latter is obviously better than the former and has the feature of one boat, more use. Therefore, the latter should be widened.
