Environmental Education in the American School in the Boca del Rio Veracruz

The American School in Boca del Rio, State of Veracruz Mexico is developing a pilot project were Environmental Education will go hand in hand with the school curricula. The country of Mexico well as some developing countries have an urgent need to educate their children in environmental issues, concerning ecosystems, pollution of the air, water and management of solid wastes. One of the main objectives of the school is to promote consciousness and a change of behavioral attitude in the children towards the environment issues. Through this program which is a "hands on" activities with school curricula and environmental education incorporated into hard core subject within the school programs to develop a real concern and interest in the children. To educate our children in matters of our environment is the hope and a viable solution for survival in the years to come for our deteriorating planet. In this paper we describe the project to be implemented.
