In traditional siro-spun system, double-roving is exported from the front roller in the same speed. A modified spinning system was developed to make the two ravings export in different speed. It is suitable for producing wrapped yarn. A group of polyester staple-core/cotton-wrap yarns were produced and were tested in terms of linear density, number of twist, tenacity, breaking extension, Uster CV%, imperfection, Uster hairiness, abrasion resistance, initial modulus and coverage. It is showed that the surface performance and physical properties of core/warp compound yarns are better those that of the conventional single yarns. And it is very difficult to obtain a 100% coverage compound yarn.
