The role of native animal breeds in agri-environment protection

The stock number of Hungarian Grey Cattle though slowly, but increased in the last decades. Because the importance of animal genetic resources the management of native breeds are supported on national level. One of the reason while management of Hungarian Beef Cattle in the last three years was not unprofitable compared to other beef cattle in Hungary is subsidy. Sufficient income to conserve the old breeds should be generated from the market, as this bio-primary food which fulfil the requirements offood safety and quality control can be sold on good price.
