The dissolution of calcium carbonate can be prevented by using carbon dioxide based applications such as CODIP? process improver, GRAFICO? calcium carbonate saver and ADALKA? process stabilizer. By using these technologies, we can simultaneously optimize process water hardness and pH-levels and improve process stability. This paper describes these applications and the benefits of using them. Different paper machines require different solutions. A number of mill cases demonstrate the different solutions using LINDE's proprietary carbon dioxide based technology.
