Minicables for blowing installation technique based on micro-module solution

摘要

An innovative solution for minicables suitable for blowing installation and having very high fibre density is presented. A complete family of cables has been designed to be mainly used in metropolitan areas, where the request for easy installation, easy fiber re-access and cost effectiveness is critical. This result has been obtained by using an idea successfully exploited in high fiber count outdoor cables: a special mini-bundle unit with a very thin sheath, 50 micron. The proposed family includes cables ranging from 48 up to 288 optical fibres, with a diameter from 5 up to 10 mm, making easy the blowing installation into miniducts with inner diameter ranging from 8 up to 12 mm.
