GI 50μm fibre with high microbend sensitivity for tight buffering process can not only affect the transmission performance , but also reduce the tight buffering capacity for cable manufacturer. The main factor for additional loss increase comes from the stress loaded on fibre due to mechanical effect and also the difference of thermal expansion coefficient between the fibre coating layer and buffer layer during tight buffering process. In this work, coating attribute on microbend resistance in tight-buffering process will be discussed. By using the optimum coating application process and right coating, the additional induced loss can be decrease to a quite low level even 30min after tight buffering.
