An Innovative Modeling Algorithm for Investigating PFC Performance

摘要

Nowadays dc-dc switching converters are the most applicable converter in the power electronic applications. Apart from electronic power supplies, they are used as power factor corrector (PFC) and input harmonic reduction. Regarding importance of the performance investigating of theses converters, in this paper we propose a new fast simulation algorithm that is enable us to predict PFC performance. Although this algorithm reduces simulation time, but the accuracy of results is kept quiet acceptable. As the boost converter is a typical solution for a PFC converter, this configuration is chosen as the base configuration and the proposed algorithm with two different control methods is applied to this configuration. In order to evaluate the proposed method, the results are compared to the results obtained from other type of simulation such as Spice simulation results.
