Measurements and analysis of noise and vibration levels on board of coast-guard defence patrol vessels

In this paper we analyse the noise and vibrations levels distribution measured on board of different typologies of coast-guard defence patrol vessels. The measurements have been performed for different operational assets in order to simulate typical patrol operations. It will be shown that the analysis of simultaneously measured noise and vibration data by means of a time – frequency approach permits both to properly characterise the main different noise sources (distinguishing, for example, the aerodynamic from the vibrations or motors inducted noise contribution) and to isolate the “extraneous” noise events.
