Diethyl Methyl Chitosan as an antimicrobial agent

摘要

The antimicrobial activities of chitosan against E.coli were compared to DEMC by calculating minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration. According to this study, the antimicrobial activity of DEMC is higher than chitosan in acetic acid;however, both compounds are pH dependent and an increase in concentration of acetic acid results in a significant decrease in both MIC and MBC.
