The formulation of propellant-driven aerosols for gene delivery was studied. DNA complexation with cationic lipid was verified by gel electrophoresis. The compatibility of pDNA lipoplexes (charge ratio of 2:1) with 0.675% w/v Tween 80 was demonstrated by light scattering, zeta potential and solubilisation in propellant HFA134a.
