Fibre Access Deployment Worldwide - Market Drivers, Politics and Technology Choices

The purpose of this paper is to review fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments around the world with an emphasis on why the deployments are occurring. Each region of the world has unique dynamics that either drive or inhibit FTTH growth. Specific attributes that will be studied are business models, public policy/regulation, carrier dynamics, applications, government incentives and costs. The lessons learned will be highlighted as each region is reviewed.
