Preparation and Application of Ammine complexes of Precious metals

Ammine complex of precious metals is characterized as a useful reagent. A new production method of tetraammineplatinum(Ⅱ)chloride has been developed in consideration of both commercial and environmental aspects. As a result, the pure ammine complex can be prepared in the new process in which dichlorohodiammine-platinum(Ⅱ) is utilized as an intermediate without any organic solvents. Several applications of ammine complexes in preparation of catalysts and plating solution are also introduced in this paper. Nano-scale and highly dispersed Pt particles on catalyst support can be provided by Pt-ammine complexes. Uniform metallization in plating application can be formed by both Pt and Pd-ammine complexes.
