After nearly 20 years operation in many plants worldwide, the tube changer is now a mature system. The consolidation of accumulated experiences from HE and VESUVIUS has been taken into consideration in order to develop a new generation of systems (mechanism and refractory). It has already been industrially applied. It meets the challenge the new objectives of the steel makers, such as long sequence cast of high quality steel at low cost, simple maintenance, easy and reliable operation.
