The operation of sintering plants in Germany is affected on the one hand by the need to meet ever stricter environmental requirements and to practice a sustainable use of resources and by the increasing competitive pressures on the manufacturers of pellets for the use as alternative materials in blast furnaces on the other. With a view to providing the blast furnace process with sufficient amounts of riighquaiity and low-cost materials, the Huttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH have developed a new exhaust recycling process for sintering plants. The new process aims to minimize the emissions and energy consumption of sintering plants without compromising their high-quality features and productivity.
