A comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigation was conducted to examine the behavior of bridge pier walls under cyclic lateral loading. Tested samples included pier walls designed to both old and new standards, as well as retrofitted and repaired walls. In the final phase, reported herein, tests are conducted on two full-scale models to confirm the results of the half-scale model tests. A comparison of the performance of full and half scale models is made considering the hysteresis loops, lateral load capacities and ductility factors.
