Vulnerability of Railway Porters in India to STi/HIV

摘要

The study of high-risk sexual behaviours among railway porters has highlighted the vulnerability of railway porters to STI/HIV and the need for undertaking a sexual health intervention, which would include 1. Health Education and Behaviour Change Communication through peer education, 2. STI Diagnosis and Treatment services coupled with counselling, 3. Condom programming through clinic, peer educators and local outlets, 4, Training local health service providers on syndromic management of STI and 5. Advocacy with railway authorities to make health services accessible to porters.
