Professional Led to Client Led: The Development of the Positive Self Management Programme (PSMP): From Adherence to Making Choices for Oneself

This paper charts the development of the Living Well Programme from a community-based holistic adherence support programme for HIV positive people, to incorporate the Positive Self Management Programme (PSMP) developing 'expert patients' and creating an 'expert community'. In other words from a professional led programme to a client led programme - from a simple adherence programme to one of making conscious choices about managing a chronic condition.
