摘要

This paper deals with the diagnosis of cracks in rotating shafts. The procedures employed are based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), and on a finite element model of the rotor. It will be shown how the depth of the crack as well as its location can be determined. In order to avoid time-consuming computations, it will be shown how the size of the finite element model can be reduced by condensation techniques.
