A Systematic Approach for the Implementation of Computer Aided Quality Management within an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP)

Dealing with quality management systems in a "Non-Hierarchic Regional Production Networks" within the special research program No.457 of the German Foundation of Research (DFG) computer added quality management (CAQ)-systems are not used for cost reasons. This is caused by the lack of Quality Management (QM)-components in existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-Systems and by the availability of Computer Aided Quality (CAQ)-Systems that are designed for testing processes and statistical analysis. By implementing a new definition for Quality Information (QI), there is a possibility to implement a Quality Information System (QIS) integrated in an ERP-system and in addition to a Computer Aided Design (CAD)-system. Based on a systematic approach by using a Matrix for the phases of a QM-System and Quality management components for each Value Adding Unit a customer requirement specification has been set up to purchase a QIS from a software provider. The QIS software will be installed at the Institute to simulate different SMEs and to proof the completeness of the customer requirement specification.
