摘要

This paper presents a new analysis algorithm for the dynamic characteristics of High-Speed Machining (HSM) tool system with rotating symmetry by using the group representation theory. Using the algorithm, the whole structure can be divided into much smaller substructures, then, the eigenvalue problem of the whole system can be reduced to the subproblems in n irreducible subspace on C{sub}n group, and the mass and stiffness matrices of one substructure are solved only, resulting in reducing of the order of the eigenequation and the calculation work greatly. In addition, the modal characteristics of structure can be obtained from theoretical analysis directly.
