Psychiatrica: Diagnosis and Profiling for Psychiatric Disorders

Computer software systems can be valuable tools in assisting medical doctors with many aspects of their work. Psychiatrica is a software system that has been designed and constructed to help psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals, with diagnosing and profiling patients. The system uses the DSM-IV-TR Axis I decision trees to help with the diagnostic process, by doing a step by step traversal of the trees when clinicians answer yes or no to the decision trees' questions. The system also administers questions for the ten basic clinical scales of the MMPI-2, along with the three validity scales. With this tool, mental health professionals can create profiles of their patients, save their DSM-IV-TR diagnoses and MMPI-2 scores, and administer their patient records.
