摘要

The paper presents some formulations for finite element analysis of coupled problems in large coils from the energy distribution networks. A vector potential formulation as fundamental unknown is used in mathematical modelling of the magnetic field. The thermal field is modelled by the heat conduction equation where the heat source is the ohmic losses generated by the eddy currents in the metal parts of the electromagnetic device and the ohmic losses in the coils. The numerical models are developed by the finite element method. We report the numerical results of the numerical simulation for large coils without core.
