Knowledge Management for Small-Medium Sized Software Development Teams: A Case Study

In recent years, there have been several developments made in Knowledge Management (KM) for Software Development (SD) Organizations. There have been many prescriptions for the use of KM in software organizations, specifically in the use of KM tools for - capturing, transforming, packaging and distributing knowledge. Using a grounded theory methodology, we present a case study on the application of KM into small-medium SD teams - a context with limited previous study. The key factors of a successful KM strategy (including Knowledge Capture and Reuse) are identified, including the concepts of critical mass, and distributed work.
