Shipyard production flow simulation using object libraries

摘要

Shipyards can use production flow simulation to test and evaluate different scenarios in investment planning, scheduling and resource planning. A virtual shipyard environment enables finding optimum solutions and avoiding wrong decisions in the real world. Object oriented simulation toolsets specially developed for shipbuilding needs provide the chance to reduce efforts and skills needed to develop simulation models for similar purposes. Object libraries containing shipbuilding specific components also allow for creating modular models inferable to holistic models of the entire enterprise. Additional networking activities and joint projects on simulation issues help making simulation affordable for smaller shipyards, too.
