In this paper, surface tensions and viscosities at 298.15 K for binary mixtures of xylene + octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane(D4), include D4 + o-xylene, D4 + m-xylene and D4 + p-xylene systems are reported. The surface tensions of the pure liquids and their mixtures were determined by the pendant drop method. The values of the surface tension deviation for these mixtures were also calculated. The result shows that the surface tension deviations are negative for the mixtures of D4 + o-xylene, D4 + m-xylene and D4 + p-xylene, and the values of surface tension deviation follow the order over the entire composition range: o-xylene < m-xylene < p-xylene. Viscosities for the pure liquids and their mixtures were determined by spin method. The values of the viscosity deviation for these mixtures were also calculated. The result shows that the viscosity deviations are negative for the mixtures of D4 + o-xylene, D4 + m-xylene and D4 + p-xylene, and the values of viscosity deviation follow the order over the entire composition range: o-xylene > m-xylene > p-xylene.
