This paper outlines the creative design and production process involved in creating two multimedia CD-ROMs in two different high schools in south eastern Ontario, Canada. The process described uses the technology as a motivational 'hook' for poetry writing in high school and discusses the current place of this new technology in a school's culture. The article concludes with a discussion about the place of this technology within the school's culture, and limitations for application of the process, along with a list of hardware and software used.
