DESIGN FEATURES OF 8000DWT/10300DWT NEW TYPE RORO VESSEL

8000DWT/10300DWT series RoRo Vessel is a new type RoRo vessel designed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) for Swedish owner NORDIC HOLDINGS and chartered chronically by famous shipping company FINLINES of Finland. The ship type is characterized with its more cargo breeds, long deck lane, high automatization, high economic benefit and satisfaction with the high environmental protection requirements of Europe. It is a 'Europe Modern RoRo Vessel' incarnating advanced design concept at the present time and receiving favorable comment in Europe shipping domain after successful delivery. It is also the first RoRo vessel designed by the domestic company. The article briefly describes the general design situation and the major features of the vessel, such as lines design, general arrangement, special equipments, lightweight and deadweight, intact stability, damage stability, etc.
