This paper develops a study on acoustic coupling. A velocity potential coupling formulation implemented at an academic code, FEDYFE, is presented. As a comparison basis, an analytical approach for the problem, based on similar hypotheses, is also demonstrated. A commercial code, ANSYS, is used in order to evaluate the accuracy of numerical results. Two test cases are selected considering different boundary conditions: at first an open acoustic cavity with a flexible wall represented by a rigid plate free to move in one direction and another cavity with two opposite rigid plates.
