Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of two aluminum alloys (LC4 and 1420) in simulative service environment was studied by constant load tensile method. It was found resistance to SCC of the 1420 alloy was higher than that of LC4 alloy in the testing environment, and time-to-failure of the two alloys decreased with increasing of applying stress. The time-to-failure of LC4 alloy was influenced by the annealing treatment. Higher susceptibility to SCC was found in LC4 T_1 alloy, due to the more precipitation of Mg element on grain boundaries.
