As a new kind of low NOx combustion technology, micronized coal reburning has several advantages over conventional technology such as lower cost, easy realization and higher NOx reduction efficiency. Compared combustion of pulverized coal with normal particle size, the micronized coal has many advantages as in the following: better reaction activation, higher NOx reduction efficiency, higher combustion efficiency and burn-out ratio. Through tests, the ignition characteristics of micronized coal and air mixture flow has been studied. Experimental results indicate that the combustion performance of micronized coal has been remarkably improved, the ignition index obviously decreased. Therefore, if micronized coal is served as rebuming fuel, it can be ignited in shorter time. Hence, the burnout time of micronized coal is shorter than that of normal sized coal. So, it can solve the problem of shorter residence time due to fuel-staged combustion, which causes combustion efficiency reduced.
