In order to develop the high efficiency and regenerable zinc-based sorbent for hot gas desulfurization, zinc-based sorbnets with ZrO_2 as an additive was studied. Zinc-based sorbents were prepared by the solid mixing method. The sulfidation and regeneration tests for H_2S removal efficiency of zinc-based sorbents were carried out in the fixed-bed tubular reactor system. The sulfidation and regeneration temperatures were 480°C and 580°C, respectively. The concentration of H_2S in coal gas was about 10000 ppmv. The sulfidation and regeneration rate of zinc-based sorbents were measured by Cahn-balance(D-200). The physical-chemical properties of zinc-based sorbents were characterized by SEM etc. From the results, it was found that ZrO_2 improved the regenerability and the durability of zinc-based sorbents during multi-cyclic tests. Specially, the regeneration rate of zince-based sorbent with ZrO_2 was higher at high temperature than that of the other sorbents.
