We describe a null test design procedure in order to test partially specular aspheric convex surfaces. For this, an array of lamps is positioned in such a way that the whole image consists of a set of equally spaced images. By rotating the surface, different meridians are tested so after 360° the entire surface is measured. We present the computing method for the positions of the lamps of the array and the evaluation algorithm. Experimental results for the test of a carbon fiber convex sphere (F/#=0.375) are shown. The main advantages and the limitations of the method will be discussed.
