Firms usually use a ratio of inputs versus outputs to evaluate efficiency, but if the process is complex the need for weighted indexes is always pointed. This paper identify the comparative efficiency level for 14 grain terminals in Argentina, located on its Atlantic coast and in the Parana River, obtained by applying the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA, a linear programming based method). The paper shows that the overall performance of Bahia Blanca's Terminals is good enough, one of them (Toepfer) that is situated at the top country level, is comparable with ACA Necochea, Vicentin and Punta Alvear, located in others regions of Argentina.
