In October-November 2001,members of the Air & Waste Management Association(A&WMA)participated in a People to People Ambassador Program delegation to the People's Republic of China(China).The delegation's main goal was to exchange information in the field of air pollution control between environmental professionals in the United States and China.China,although a world power,is struggling with the serious environmental issues stemming from the tremendous industrial growth that has occurred over the past 20 years.This presentation will cover the technical and cultural exchanges made as part of this delegation as well as a commentary on the state of air quality in China based on the delegation's two-week visit to the country.
