In the majority of cases maintenance is only performed when a fault occurs. The Fault Analysis Chart system is a simple mathematical model that provides telecommunications companies with a statistical measuring tool that highlights shortcomings of their outside plant networks. The chart is based around items that can affect the integrity of the network. These items are given individual ratings that range from the critical factors down to the less troublesome.
