The data system described is based on the idea that an acquisition system solution can be obtained using personal computers and standard Windows 2000~(TM) operating platforms. Over 1,300 pressure, temperature, voltage, and other measurements are collected by several Pentium computers and shared with a master computer using a reflective memory network. Because the tasks are distributed among several computers, data collection rates are maintained while data is converted to engineering unit (EU) data in real time. Calculations are performed during data collection and give test engineers immediate feedback. All data is merged and stored, while operators are given access to data displays and controls using a computer environment with which they are comfortable. Data accuracy and bandwidth are maintained by utilizing smart data acquisition hardware, such as Agilent VXI, Scanivalve DSA Pressure, and GE Kaye TruTemp Temperature systems.
