The data system described is based on the idea that an acquisition system solution can be obtained usingpersonal computers and standard Windows 2000? operating platforms. Over 1,300 pressure,temperature, voltage, and other measurements are collected by several Pentium computers and sharedwith a master computer using a reflective memory network. Because the tasks are distributed amongseveral computers, data collection rates are maintained while data is converted to engineering unit (EU)data in real time. Calculations are performed during data collection and give test engineers immediatefeedback. All data is merged and stored, while operators are given access to data displays and controlsusing a computer environment with which they are comfortable. Data accuracy and bandwidth aremaintained by utilizing smart data acquisition hardware, such as Agilent VXI, Scanivalve DSA Pressure,and GE Kaye TruTemp Temperature systems.
