Risk factors for Clinical Mastitis Outcomes

Clinical mastitis remains as one of the most costly diseases in the dairy industry. Some of the direct and indirect costs include treatment costs, milk withdrawal, increased mortality and culling, increased labor, and reproduction failures. The firstobjective of this study was to identify risk factors at first clinical mastitis case that may permit estimate clinical mastitis outcomes and evolution (60 d after first case of mastitis). The second objective of this study was to describe the outcomes of selected treatment protocols.
