RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MILKING PERFORMANCE AND MICROBIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF BULK TANK MILK

There are numerous management factors that are considered to influence milk quality on dairy farms including cow environment, milking hygiene and milking system performance. Milk quality includes both microbiological characteristics and SCC of bulk tank milk and can be influenced by environment, milking practices and udder hygiene (Schreiner et al., 2003). The aim of this study was to describe the relationship between milking management and microbiological status of bulk tank milk.
