PROGRAMMING CONTESTS IN ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENTS

As part of IBM's commitment to supporting open source technology, a new programming competition has been established to promote the use of Eclipse, an open source platform designed to help developers work with tools from multiple vendors, in an integrated fashion. Developers use Eclipse to create a wide variety of applications, from Web sites to wireless programs to C++ programs and more. Dozens of leading tool vendors are already building tools based on the Eclipse platform. (www.eclipse.org)
