TOMATO AND STRAWBERRY TRIALS INTERIM REPORT: DETERMINANT VS. INDETERMINANT VARIETIES IN VERTICAL TOWERS

Verti-Gro has been testing a new method of growing tomatoes for over 4 years. The "hanging" tomato system works well for certain types of tomatoes, mainly determinant varieties. During the past year, and with two crops of tomatoes, it is apparent that tomatoes do not have to be grown up a string or lowered. It is also obvious from our tests that determinant varieties hang better than the indeterminant greenhouse types.
