摘要

This study aims at quantifying the CO_2 exchange of a study site located in the Savanna region of the West African Volta basin (Burkina Faso) by applying the Regional Biomass Model (RBM). The RBM was developed at a resolution of 1 km for the Namibian Kaokoveld. The model was transferred to the scale of 250 m to consider the fine scattered landscape of West Africa. The globally available lkm MODIS FPAR product was downscaled using 250 m NDVI data. A new land cover map and maps showing the fractional cover woody and herbaceous vegetation, all derived from 250 m MODIS data, served as the most important parameters to adjust the RBM. The results of the model were plausible and the transfer to West Africa and to the 250 m scale was successful. The presented NPP modeling at intermediate scale can also be understood as an input for both, extrapolation of field measurements and validation of continental or global products.
