This paper presents the design and development aspects of collector for 5MW klystron tube. The optimised design of collector has been utilised in the development of 5 MW pulse klystron. The theoretical design criteria for the collector, cooling channels, X- rays radiation protection shield have been discussed. The experimental development of collector and complete tube assembly etc. are discussed in details. The experimental results obtained for temperature rise of collector, x-rays radiation protection lead shield thickness etc. have been validated with the theoretical design values.
