In summary, cell adhesion to three model surfaces demonstrates that non-specific interactions can play a significant role in determining cellular adhesion to peptide coated biomaterial surfaces. Surfaces grafted with RGD show enhanced integrin expression and exhibit well-defined focal adhesion.
