All these observations are consistent with the diffusion of the crosslinking agents / adhesion promoters to the outer regions during cure. As for "channel adhesion", the phenomenon is clearly due to the same diffusion processes with the three zones (referred to in the introduction) corresponding to the outer and inner regions of cure.
