A Model for Centralizing and Encapsulating Architectural Production Data and Distributing over the Web through the use of XML

摘要

This paper proposes a method for distributing personalized architectural and construction procedures through a centralized web centric interface. Pressures on the architectural, engineering and construction firms have necessitated the use of more efficient methods to cut cost. By creating a system that delivers task critical data from parametric models in a personalized form through the integration of database driven user specific data, the authors create a system that can serve as an on-site reference system. Personnel in different stages of the production pipeline need to see data concerning the project, but it needs to be personalized for them. The authors describe a method for using XML based Metastream format for dynamically generating production documentation on the Web.
